MARK ALAN JOHNSON Sr.

Mark Johnson Sr., 53, of El Centro passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016 of cancer in his home. He was born November 11, 1962 in Annapolis, MD and was married to Anita P. Johnson on April 16, 1988 in Los Angeles, CA. Mark was in the Marine Corps and worked at Centinela State Prison for 20 years. He was such a good man and hardworker, everything he did, he did for his family whom he loved very much. Mark is preceded in death by his mother, Gertrude C. Johnson; father, Grafton H. Johnson Sr. He is survived by his wife, Anita of El Centro; son, Mark Jr. (Keishia) of San Diego; daughter, Alexis of El Centro; brothers, Grafton H. (Peggy) Johnson Jr., Annapolis, MD, Charles (Julie) Johnson of Cary, NC, Kim A. (Amy) Johnson of Washington, D.C., Jeffrey L. Johnson, Annapolis, MD; sisters, Clara B. Johnson of Annapolis, MD, Linda M. Johnson of Annapolis, MD, Sandra L. Adams of Annapolis, MD: mother-in-law, Isabel L. Picon of Imperial; sister-in-law, Jane Picon of San Gabriel, CA; brother-in-laws, Mel (Renee) Picon of Clovis, CA, Benny (Darlene) Picon of Tacoma, WA; Joey Picon of Rome, GA and Louie (Aurora) Picon of Mexico; granddaughters, Annabelle and Maddisen of El Centro and numerous nieces and nephews; Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Hems Brothers Mortuary in El Centro. Service will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's in El Centro and will be officiated by Deacon Marcos Lopez. Burial will immediately follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
