OTTUMWA — Mark Reid, 52, of Ottumwa, passed away Sept. 30, 2009, at home. He was born Jan. 9, 1957, to Donald and Marieta Anderson Reid in Ottumwa. Mark retired as a UPS driver after 30 years of service. He also served in the United States Army. Mark enjoyed hunting and playing cards, especially Texas Hold'em.Mark is survived by two brothers, Mike (Terry) Reid of Tempe, Ariz., and Tom (Rita) Reid of Fairfield; and a sister, Kathy Reid of Ottumwa. He is also survived by a nephew, Brian (Claire) Reid; nieces, Stacie Reid and Dominique (Tony) McCormack; and special friend, Mark Nickos.He is preceded in death by his parents.Cremation has been accorded.Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Johnson's Funeral Chapel.No formal visitation is arranged.Johnson's Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. It has been many years, but the memories are still there like it was yesterday. Mark will be missed by everyone who knew him. He was such a nice man and a friend to everyone. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and close friends.

I will miss you so much Mark, we laughed alot together! Mark was the easiest person to get to know and like, I'm so sorry for his familys'loss, he certainly was a wonderful person to know. I can't recall one time that is more memorable than another because they all were great times from jr high to the present, you were taken way too early, Godspeed! Karen M

All the memories of fun times together shall never leave my heart. My daughter Dasha always called Mark her Marko Reda.He shall be missed greatly. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
I am so sad for those left behind and for all that have had the opportunity to know and love Mark too. We love ya Mark!
