I've never got to meet Marlene, but had the pleasure of 'talking' with her in the Lancer writers group. She was always nice and caring. She will be missed by many.
God be with her, all her family and friends.

Even in the online world Marlene's warmth and sense of humour pervaded. My sympathy to all her family, although I never met Marlene in person, just knowing her as a Lancer friend was a privilege. Her warmth will live on in our memories . Nos da bach. Lucy Taylor , Llanfair ym Muallt, Wales.

I have been a FB friend of Marlene's for a year now. We met through the Lancer site. She was one of the writer's I enjoyed reading. I was hoping to meet her at the 50th Lancer Anniversary in Southern California. When I found out she was diagnosed with Small Cell Lung cancer, I kept her in my prayers daily. She was so positive. May she rest in peace. I will say a rosary for her.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Marlene in person, but we were facebook friends and shared a great love of the old western Lancer. Her posts and comments always brought a smile to my face. I still chuckle every time I think of one of her last posts, when she asked us to tell how we met her, but to lie about it. The responses she received made me laugh out loud! She was a wonderful lady and will be sorely missed. My condolences to all her family.

I had the pleasure of meeting Marlene in McKinney, Texas, at Spirit of the Cowboy. We both were there to honor James Stacy aka Johnny Madrid Lancer. Marlene was so excited and her exuberance was definitely contagious! She will be missed by so many people. I wish her and her family peace.

My heartfelt sympathy to Marlene's many friends and family members. As you have probably noticed by now Marlene made an impact on many peoples lives and touched their hearts. Marlene was the kindest, funniest person I NEVER met. We were Facebook friends and had a shared love for the TV program "Lancer" and one of the main characters in that series, Johnny Madrid Lancer. We were both 'Johnny's Girls' and would banter back and forth as to which of us was the biggest 'Johnny' fan. Of course she won, when she achieved her lifelong dream of meeting James Stacy face to face last year. I was at first shocked at the news of her passing. She was so upbeat and sure of a positive outcome in her battle with cancer. Now, I am saddened to the core. Her love of family, life in general, her strong faith in God and her love of all of God's creatures are the things that I will remember the most about her. I will miss her posts on Facebook and her encouraging words to all that crossed her path on a daily basis. Rest in Peace Marlene. We will toast you with a shot of Tequila (Johnny's drink of choice) at the Lancer 50th Anniversary get together in 2018. We know that you will be there with all of us, in spirit ...

I am so sorry to hear of Marlene's passing. It has been a very long time since I have seen her, but I certainly remember her gentle spirit. Wishing you peace. Beth Turbett

I knew Marlene only through FB and the Lancer fan fiction sites, but I really lost a good friend. She shared my passion for Lancer, particularly Johnny Lancer. I really enjoyed her stories.Marlene seemed to be such a positive, upbeat lady. She was always there to give feedback on the stories others penned, as well as encouraging new authors on the fan fiction site. Her kindness and sunny disposition showed in her posts as well as in the pictures she would post on FB. She always had a smile. May you rest with the angels, my friend. Love, Barbara V.

She was a playful, funny, and sweethearted Auntie. She had very little but always gave whatever she had. She suffered from health issues but always had a smile on her face, keeping an optimistic spirit until the end. I'm am so glad I knew her and she will always be a part of my life. She was so dearly precious and beloved.
Eternal rest give to her, Lord; and let perpetual light shine upon her.

Marlene was a wonderful lady, always cheerful and always willing to help. I'm so glad I got the chance to meet her in person at McKinney where we both met actor James Stacy. Marlene and I shared a love of all things Lancer, and writing Lancer fan fiction will not be the same without her to read and enjoy it. Johnny Madrid Lancer has lost his biggest fan, and I will truly miss her.

Marlene, there is a hole in my FB world now that you have left us. You were always there with something new to share with us, a positive attitude, and something kind to say. You will be very missed. I know Mary (Southern Frau) will be one of those waiting for you and you two can cause havoc in Lancerland there. Keeping you in my heart and my memories.

MC called me Amiga....We didn't always agree, but always simply agreed to disagree. We never met in the flesh but talked a lot on the internet and had a laugh at times as well. She was always the first one to respond when asked for a prayer. I will miss her presence and was shocked by the suddenness of her passing. I had only just spoken with her on facebook messenger the day before and she was so positive. R.I.P. MC as I called her....love from H (as she called me sometimes) I live in London England but am from Scotland. It wouldn't allow me to say this, so I put Wisconsin.

I only got to know Marlene through FB. We share a love for westerns, especially Lancer and our favorite actor James Stacy. She was always a positive, upbeat presence on the various sites. Her smile told her story! The story of a beautiful person, full of light and love for everyone. The kind of person I would like to be. I always hoped to meet her in person. I feel her loss deeply, though I didn't have that chance. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you who were blessed to have that personal connection. She is loved and missed. Rest in peace Marlene, mi Amiga.

Remember me with smiles and laughter,
For that's the way I'll remember you all.

Then don't remember me at all.
