SMITHVILLE, MS - SMITHVILLE, MS - Marshall Hall Bailey, 66, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023, at his residence in Smithville, MS. He was born on December 19, 1956. in Memphis, TN to the late John V. Bailey, Jr. and Ruby Kathleen Hall Bailey.

Marshall grew up in Shelby County with two brothers and a sister. He graduated from Fairley High School in Tennessee. He also attended Memphis State University for some additional education. He was a hard worker and had a great work ethic. He started working at a young age, as a child performing lawn service for neighbors. He eventually transferred in to retail work as a teenager with TG & Y in Memphis. Marshall then was recruited to work at Walmart in it's early days and he help set up 57 stores. He then relocated to northern Mississippi where he worked in the polyfoam business until his youngest son become disabled. An opportunity came up where he could work for JB Hunt in transportation and he lastly transferred to AAA Cooper Transport company out of Dothan, AL. Marshall loved being a truck driver and he never saw it as work, it was always an adventure, driving over 4 million safe miles during his career.

He married the love of his life, Cheryl Hendrix on June 6, 1981 and they were blessed with two sons. They met when Marshall was hit by a drunk driver. He was very proud of raising his family and providing a great home for his wife so that she could stay home and take care of their disabled son. He was tender hearted and always put others first. Marshall loved spending time teaching his sons and he had a passion for people with disabilities. He always made sure they were treated with respect.

He loved the Lord and was a member of Meadowood Baptist Church. Marshall enjoyed working with the RA's when his sons were young. In his free time, he was involved in pet rescue causes, always made sure hungry people were fed, and he enjoyed spending time with his co-workers whom he made lifelong friendships with over the years.

His life was blessed and he was loved dearly. His family has peace knowing that he is in the presence of God and totally healed. His faithful unselfish love for this family will be rewarded in his new life and his family can't wait to see him again someday.
