Martha Louise "Lou" Zumer

Louise "Lou" Zumer, aged 92, of Mebane, NC, passed away on March 30, 2024. She was born on August 29, 1931, in Bushy Fork, NC. Louise spent her childhood on a farm in the Roxboro area and later resided in Mebane. She was a devoted Christian, cherishing her Bible and gospel music. Louise was married to John Turner in her youth and had two daughters, Shirley and Teresa. In her later years, she found happiness with her husband Frank Zumer, and together they explored the world and embraced new experiences.

Louise dedicated 43 years to Peaches 'N Cream in Mebane, starting in the sewing room and ascending to the role of design coordinator, where she reported directly to the company president. She obtained her realtor's license and worked alongside Frank in F&L Associates, a residential building company.

Louise was a member of the Mebane Methodist Church. Her hobbies included sewing, scrapbooking, hiking, and traveling. She was an adventurous soul who adored the outdoors and cherished moments with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Louise is survived by her daughter Teresa Dallas and her husband Tim, granddaughter Katie Dallas and partner Chris Everett, grandson Jason Dallas and his wife Jen, great-grandchildren Brinkley, Tristan, Everleigh, and Juliette Dallas, as well as her siblings David Chambers, Joseph Chambers, Anne Dodson, Lilly Lowery, and Peggy Hall. She was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Elizabeth (Lizzy) Chambers, daughter Shirley Harris, husband Frank Zumer, and siblings Charlie Chambers and Francis Ellis.

A memorial service to honor Louise's life will be at The Whitehouse in Mebane on April 13. Walker's Funeral Home in Mebane, NC, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
