Marvin G Messer

Marvin Gerald Messer was born to Jake & Leakatria Messer in Richardton, ND on July 4, 1940. Marvin passed away on February 22, 2019 at his residence in Glendale, AZ surrounded by his family.
As a young boy he grew up on the family farm in Hebron, ND. Marvin enlisted in the North Dakota Army National Guard and served from 1960 to 1966 and was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant. Marvin married Marlene Wolfe on September 20, 1962 in Dickinson, ND and together they raised eight children.
For many years Marvin worked for John Deere and Agri-Power. There was never a combine, baler, or swather that Dad couldn't fix, and (trust me) all the farmers had his personal number. Later in life he started in the trucking industry and then moved to Arizona in 1987. He continued working in the agricultural industry which always was his passion.
Marvin lost his wife Marlene to the Lord in June 08, 2006, and retired that same year. Marvin's joy was camping with his children and sleeping under the stars.
In 2008 he married Margie Messer and together they traveled to many parts of the world and always enjoyed their trips back to beautiful North Dakota, visiting family and friends.
Survivors include his eight children; Mike (Nancy) Messer, Casa Grande, AZ; Melvin (Carmen) Messer, Casa Grande, AZ; Mark (Wendy) Messer, Phoenix, AZ; Marchell (Del) Kubas, Dickinson, ND; Marlin (Laura) Messer, Aqua Dulce, CA; Marella (Brent) Schwan, Watford City, ND; Monte Messer, Apache Junction, AZ; and Mandell (Mayra) Messer, Glendale AZ. His wife Margie and her two children; Greg (Brenda) Messer, Dickinson, ND; Tina (Mark) Kovash, Manning, ND, Twenty-one grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one brother James (Mary Ann) Messer, Glendale, AZ; and three sisters Kathleen (Ronald) Schwartz, Hebron, ND; Georgianne (Allen) Schmalenberger, Dickinson, ND; Salome Messer, Houston, TX .
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister, and one grandson.
