Mary Anne Skinner Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Feb. 24 to Feb. 25, 2023.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Anne (Klimas) Skinner, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend. Mary Anne passed away on February 21st, 2023, at the age of 70.

Born on February 10th, 1953, in Hartford, CT, to Frank and Catherine Klimas, Mary Anne grew up with her three sisters and one brother in West Hartford, CT. For 34 years, she was a devoted wife to Charles Skinner and a wonderful mother to her two daughters, Kimberly (Brunton) Mickus and Victoria (Skinner) Skovran.

Throughout her life, Mary Anne was known for her kind heart, impeccable fashion, generosity, and her ability to always put others before herself. She had a passion for animals and was an advocate for adopting dogs in need. Mary Anne loved hosting and spending time with family and friends, and she was a pillar of strength and a source of comfort for those around her.

Mary Anne graduated from Hall High School in West Hartford, CT in 1971 and worked as a Tax Accountant in the Hartford area for over 30 years.

Despite facing many challenges in life, Mary Anne always remained positive and resilient. She never lost her faith and remained a strong believer in the power of love and kindness.

Mary Anne is survived by her loving husband Charles Skinner, her two children and their spouses, Kimberly (Brunton) Mickus and her husband Jason Mickus, and Victoria (Skinner) Skovran and her husband Tom Skovran, her three grandchildren, Tyler and McKenzie Mickus, and Dylan Skovran, her sisters Kathleen (Klimas) Bourn, Nancy (Klimas) Merrill, and Christine (Klimas) Keating, her brother Michael Klimas and his wife Heather, her furry companion Korra, and many other family members and friends who will deeply miss her.

Her memory will forever be cherished by all who knew her. A celebration of Mary Anne's life will be held on March 4th at the Avon Volunteer Fire Department Company 2 at 106 Secret Lake Road in Avon, CT from 11-2pm. We welcome all family and friends to attend and honor Mary Anne's memory. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to Dog Star Rescue in Bloomfield, CT (https://dogstarrescue.org/donate-to-dog-star-rescue/). May she rest in peace, knowing that she was loved and admired by so many.

so very sorry to hear of Mary Anne's passing. I am one of her cousins now residing in Pennsylvania but spent several overnights at her childhood home and remember her well. Reading her obituary tells me what a wonderful life she had and how kind she was. Condolences to her family from Elaine DiGiovanni Farrell and husband Joe.
