Mary Coleman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 13, 2025.
Hingham - Mary Elizabeth Coleman, 71 years of age, entered eternal life at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston on January 29, 2025.

She lived her entire life in Hingham, MA attending Hingham schools and graduated from Westfield State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Mary loved art. Among her favorite mediums were watercolor and pencil sketch drawings. She also made beautiful pottery and jewelry.

Mary was a very caring and compassionate person and enjoyed working with the elderly. Always with a smile, she enjoyed getting together on family occasions with nieces and nephews and sharing their stories.

She was the youngest daughter of the late Francis H Coleman Jr. and Eleanor M Coleman. Mary was the devoted mother to Lysha McDowell and her spouse Chloe McDowell of Springfield, Oregon.

Mary is survived by her sisters Ellen Coleman, Margaret Coleman, and Constance Coleman of Hingham and her brother Francis H Coleman III and wife Theresa Coleman of Pembroke. Mary was predeceased in 2024 by her brother Timothy Coleman of W. Bath, Maine.

Your expressions of symphony have been comforting and very appreciated by our family.

I always enjoyed Mary. Loved her smile, her vibrant personality, and the way she loved life. Every time that I went to the "Cracker Barrel " I made it Special by going across the street to visit Mary! My heart has a big hole in it from learning this news. Rest in peace Mary. I will never forget you.

Mary and I were best friends in 1st and 2nd grade at least. I used to stop by her house on the way to South School and we would walk together or take the bus together. I used to play at her house and have sleepovers in the summer when we were young. I lost track of her and was bad about keeping up with old friends, which I regret. Rest in peace Mary and I will hold those old memories dear to my heart.
