Mary Crews Obituary
Mrs. Crews was born December 31, 1925 in Griffin, daughter of the late James A. and Della Mae Turner Smith. She was a member of East Griffin Congregational Holiness Church (Family Worship Center) and preached the gospel for over 50 years in many denominations, wherever the Lord led her. Mrs. Crews was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Bowling Crews, Sr.; son, Rev. Hugh Bowling Crews, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Edna Crews and sons-in-law, Keith Shiflett and David Lindsey.
Survivors include her daughters & sons-in-law, Glenda & Sonny Perry, Constance Shiflett, Deborah & Wesley Hayes and Cheryl Lindsey; sisters, Maxine Willis and Martha Hambrick; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Rev. Mary Bethel Crews will be held Sunday, July 26, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Rev. Billy Anderson, Rev. Leonard Hodge, Rev. Daniel Perry and Rev. Gene Luke will officiate. Burial will follow in Westwood Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Saturday, July 25, 2015 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Haisten McCullough Funeral Home, 1155 Everee Inn Rd. is in charge of arrangements.

Just wanted to say how much of an impact sister Mary and all her family has had on all of us who grew up with them in the Hawkinsville CH Church. I will never forget the wonderful times we have had. Thank God for such a person who reflects the life of Christ. Sister Mary was and always will be an inspiration for me to live my life for Christ.

Sis MARY WAS A TRUE INSPIRATIONAL AND FAITHFUL SERVANT OF God. I had the privilege of singing with her and Lavena Brooks back in the late 50's and early 60's. It was such a happy and blessed time. Never heard anyone preach, sing and pray with the anointing so strong. This generation (who knew her) was indeed blessed. My prayers are with her sweet family for God's comfort during this difficult time. Love you all.

One of my fondest memories was several years ago my Father had surgery and he was in so much pain. I was a young adult at the time and could not bear to see him suffer, so I gave him a double dose of his medicine. My parents lived in Riverdale next door to the Crews, but Mary was in Barnesville at the time and the Holy Spirit visited her to leave and come pray for Daddy (Rev. Stephen Perry) She immediately obeyed and he was brought back and lived many years after that. I had no idea he was leaving this world until he came to after prayer and told us what happened. SHE WAS A TRUE PRAYER WARRIOR, AND AN OBEDIENT SERVANT.

Aunt Mary, Mama told me of your passing yesterday. She loved you so much. We pray that Perfect Peace will flood the souls of all of our family. Mama is unable to come to your home going celebration, but will be there in her heart. Love to you all, Huldah Boyd Yarbrough Family.

I remember when my father and Sonny's father - Rev. Stephen Perry had surgery and he was in so much pain I gave him a double dose of his medicine. A few minutes after this happened Mary Crews came to the house as she felt something was wrong. Later when he recovered he told us he was passing on and remembered Mary praying and him coming back. I met Rev. Crews when I was very young, late 60's or early 70's at a revival at the Sandersville Church of God. Her family stayed in our home (Terrell & Helen Williford). Such a wonderful family. Please accept my condolences.
