Mary Beckey Doray

DORAY – Mary Beckey, 92, of Ebensburg, passed away May 14, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Sept. 16, 1915, in Vintondale, daughter of the late Theodore and Mary (Strelosky) Malhosky. Preceded in death by husband, Paul Anthony; sister, Ann; and brother, Anthony. Survived by daughter, Pamela G. Doray, DMD, of Media, Pa.; grandchildren, Adrienne and Daniel Jensen-Doray; four step grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. Also survived by brothers, James, Texas, and Theodore, Chicago; and sister, Irene Kreisch, Indiana, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was a very active member of Holy Ascension Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Nanty Glo, where she was treasurer for 40 years, until she became ill. Was a Democratic committee woman and judge of elections and member of Ebensburg VFW Ladies Auxiliary, as well as many other organizations. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Nanty Glo, where Parastas will be held at 8 p.m. that evening. Brief service at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. at Holy Ascension Orthodox Church, the Very Rev. Father George Hnatko, celebrant. Committal, Holy Name Cemetery, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s memory may be made to the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind.
