Mary Lynn Olson, daughter of Orville and Lucille (Overson) Olson, was born May 24, 1943 in Starbuck, Minnesota. She was baptized on June 27, 1943. Mary completed the High School Bible Department of Evangelical Lutheran Church on May 28, 1961. Mary attended and graduated school in Starbuck. On March 31, 1962, she was united in marriage to Robert Johnshoy at the Arlyn Peterson home by Reverend Paul Somake. Mary lived on a farm near Starbuck, where she and her husband farmed 300 acres and tended to dairy cattle. The couple continued to live in Starbuck and raise four children.



Mary was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Mary's hobbies include playing lottery, gardening and spending time with family and friends. She was also a huge Vikings fan.



Mary died at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck, MN on March 15, 2008. She reached the age of 64 years.



Mary is survived by her children: Roxanne Peters of Glenwood, Sheila (Neil) Kaelin of Zimmerman, Kyle (Lisa) Johnshoy of Cambridge and Carrie (Shawn) Glass of Charlotte, NC; six grandchildren; fours sisters: Roseanne (Tom) Ruhland of Excelsior, Karen (Bob) Swenson of New Hope, Joyce (Jeff) Mix of Moreno, CA and Evie Olson (Hugh Ruthedge) of Starbuck and three brothers: John (Jan) Olson of Starbuck, Ken (Donna) Olson of Satellite Beach, FL and Wayne (Robin) Olson of Princeton. She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Johnshoy; parents: Orville and Lucille Olson and one sister: Betty Olson.



Honorary pallbearers for the service are Mary's grandchildren: Nicholas Peters, Alexandra Peters, Casey Johnshoy, Callie Johnshoy, Cassidy Johnshoy and Cierra Johnshoy. Dee Syverson will serve as organist for the service. Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck is in charge of the arrangements.
