Mary McQuade Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 26, 2024.
Mary Elaine "Babe" McQuade (nee Doherty) passed away on March 23, 2024, at the age of 88 in Wrentham, Massachusetts. Born on October 9, 1935, in South Boston, Massachusetts, Mary was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Mary and Pete raised their family in Norwood, Massachusetts where she was involved in civic organizations including the Norwood Boosters and the Norwood Senior Center. Mary was a kind and caring person who offered a listening ear and compassionate support to all. She was an event planner extraordinaire, renowned for organizing Christmas parties at the VFW hall and pool parties for every family occasion.

Mary's absence is mourned by her loving husband, Peter McQuade, her adoring children Linda Chiofar and her husband Paul of Wrentham, Larry McQuade and his wife Sandy of Westwood, Dan McQuade of Wrentham, and Maureen Harkins and her husband Bob of Norwood. She will also be greatly missed by her nine grandchildren: Kevin, Christopher, Shawn, Trevor, Amelia, and Brenna McQuade, and Brian, Patrick, and Alison Harkins.

A celebration of Mary's life will be held at a later date.

Mary will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her kindness and warmth will live on in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in peace.
