SVENSON, Mary (Nee Ortman)
August 19th, 1926 - October 7th, 2013
Mary Svenson, widow of Ed Svenson, Peebles, Sk. late of Alameda, Sk. passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the age of 87 years at the Galloway Health
Centre, Oxbow, Sk. A public graveside service will be held in the Windthorst Cemetery, Windthorst Sk. on Saturday October 26th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Lynette Callfas officiating. A luncheon will follow in the Windthorst Community Centre. Mary was predeceased by her husband Ed in 2001, son- in-law George 2001, her parents Mike and Katie Ortman, four brothers, five sisters and twelve brothers and sisters-in-law. Mary is survived by her family, Jim (Shirley) Svenson, Regina, Lynn Synk, Peebles, Ralph (Amy) Svenson, Vernon, B.C. Judy (Glenn) Swallow, Alameda, and Ken (Jamie) Svenson, Peebles, thirty grandchildren and thirty-four great grandchildren, one brother-in-law, Albert Rieder and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was a spiritual, creative person who loved humour. She was very active in
the community, loved her curling, her Roughriders, her cards and her crosswords. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Windthorst and cared deeply about the needs of others. The greatest joy and love of Mary's life was her family and when they were gathered together, she was most content. Mary and her family greatly appreciated the loving care that she received from Dr. Botha, Dr.Hyman and the staff at the Galloway Health Centre, In lieu
of flowers, those wishing to honor Mary may specify donations to the Galloway Health Centre Palliative Care Trust Fund, cheques payable to the Sun Country Health
