Preceded in death by her father Robert Thomas, mother Catherine Thomas, sister Margaret Thomas, brother Robert Thomas. Survived by her sister Patricia Meyer & brother in law William Meyer Rockville Maryland, sister Ellen Hutson & brother in law James Hutson Livermore CA, sister Anna Grace Thomas Union City CA, niece Elizabeth Almasi Larkspur CA, nephew Daniel Meyer Hilo Hawaii, great niece Sofia Calderon Fairfield CA and sister of the heart Shelley Bennet Grants Pass Oregon.
Born in Berkeley California at Alta Bates Hospital. Former member of First Presbyterian Church of Berkeley. Longtime member of Girl Scout troop 36. Attended Emerson Elementary school, Bentleys-Anna Head Royce and graduate of Berkeley High class of 1961. Received an AA degree from Diablo Valley College. Went on to earn a degree in material management at UC Berkeley Extension.
Her working career was spent as a buyer/planner for various manufacturing companies around the Bay area. She also worked in the Silicon Valley in its formative years.
An extremely independent woman who traveled the world solo long before it was common for women to do so.
Resident of Alameda county her entire life.
Mary was the eldest of six children and was always in charge. Loyal, loving caring to her family and friends, she will be greatly missed by those she leaves behind.
Services will be at a later date.
