Mary Torba Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 30, 2012.
Mary Laverne Torba (84) passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012 in Chandler, Arizona, surrounded by
her family. Her unique spirit is finally at peace with her Dear Lord whom she always trusted during her
long and courageous battle with pain and illnesses. She devoted her entire life to being a good daughter,
sister, wife, loving mother, a wonderful caring grandmother, great grandmother and a friend to all she met.
Mary was born in Youngstown, Ohio, November 27, 1928 and lived most of her life there until she moved
to Arizona to be closer to her children. As a homemaker, she took care of her family and loved to cook,
bake and sew. She was a seamstress to many local residents. Everyone who met her was touched by
her kindness, sense of humor and caring ways. She had a way of touching lives, helping others and
leaving memories that no one ever forgets. The world will not be quite the same without her. She will
surely be missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Torba, her mother and father, Mary and Chester
Renshaw and her two brothers David and Chester Renshaw. Also a great grandchild, Rhane Hope Torba
who died only hours after her birth.
She is survived by her three children, Robert Torba and wife Fran, Diane Whipple and husband Rick, and
Rick Torba and wife Cathy. Seven grandchildren: Julie Jacobs and husband Brent, Robert Torba , Dana
Meulenaere and husband Joe, James Buzzacco and girlfriend Misty Neuhardt, John Torba and fiancé
Tyler Willis, Jason Torba and girlfriend Shasta Broyles, and Brian Torba and wife Ashley.
Great Grandchildren, Parker and Makenna Jacobs, Jordan and Preston Meulenaere, and Campbell and
Delaney Torba.
Tribute to Mary:
She loved God
She loved her family
She loved her friends
She loved her friend's families.
She loved her dog Skippy
She loved everyone's pets
She loved music, especially Robert Goulet
She loved to laugh
She loved good food (no margarine)
She loved to know the scoop about everyone's life
She never saw an ocean or stayed in a five star hotel
Her life was devoted to always being there to help others
Heaven awaits you Mary.
Mary's favorite prayer:
Hail Mary, full of Grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for our
sinners, now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.
In lieu of flowers or donations Mary's family requests that each person please Pay It Forward and help
someone in need.

Mary was a sweet person and always a loving cousin to our mother Virginia Carissimi. Mary was always upbeat and happy. She had a great spirit. On behalf of my siblings Mark, Eddie, David and Gina, I extend our deepest sympathies. She will be deeply missed by us all.

Our thoughts & prayers are with your family. We will always remember the fun and laughter with Mary, the polichinky's and other treats, Rick's shenanigans with his mom, card club with my mom, and all the other great neighborhood fun. We will all miss her and were all blessed by sharing in her life!

Aunt Mary, my memories of you are all happy and full of laughter. I used to love it when my mom and I would visit. I rarely saw anything but a smile on your face. I will remember you that way, and only have one regret, that I wasn't able to see you after you left Ohio. I'll see you when you come back, you can count on that. Your Niece, Dorene (Torba) Walling.

Dear Family,
I met Mary many years ago through Carol and Joe Sirohman. My parents were friends of theirs. I grew up seeing her here and there; she always had the warmest smile on her face and kind words. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. She was one of those people that leave an impression (I am thinking I may have been about 11 or 12 when I met her) that you just never forget. Please take care.
Love, Maria (Yablonkai) Sebastian

Grandma, just writing to you for the last time in this guest book is so very saddening. You were the best Grandma and Great Grandma we could have asked for to love us the way you did. I miss you and I will always, but thank you for blessing me with all the wonderful memories I have with you. I love you, we love you, goodbye Grandma.
