WEAVER, MARY FRANCES (FRAN) SANDERSON - of Halls, passed away February 17, 2014 at North Knoxville Medical Center. She was born to the union of Floyd Clifton and Gwendolyn Curtis Sanderson June 12, 1924, in Maryville, Blount County, Tennessee. She was a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church. After her retirement from the office of Dempster Dumpster Systems in 1980, she became interested in genealogy and worked for years as her family historian. Preceded in death by those she loved dearly in her life: parents, Floyd C. and Gwendolyn Curtis Sanderson; brother, Floyd C. (Bud) Sanderson, Jr.; sisters, Elizabeth Sanderson Martin, Priscilla Mae Sanderson Cox, and Oneita Bell Sanderson Smith; brothers-in-law, Roy Henderlight, Jack Cox, Maurice (Moose) Martin, and Bobby Smith; nephews, Michael Wayne Martin and Robert (Danny) Daniel Smith; nieces, Debbie Smith and Brenda Smith Walker; cousin, Rosemary Sanderson Major; a dear sister-in-law, Bobby Sanderson and Fran's best friend, Evelyn "Red" Spitzer. Fran is survived by her devoted and caring husband of 67 years, Fred A. Weaver, Sr.; her precious son, Fred (Freddy) Weaver, Jr. and lovingly Caroline Lackey; sisters, Jean Sanderson Henderlight Major (Gene); nieces, Connie Smith Walding (Robert) of Jacksonville, Florida, Donna Henderlight and Molly Arp, Becky Smith Harrison (Tony) of Knoxville, Lora Martin Hazelwood (Jim) of Delray Beach, Florida, and Dorsey Smith Bryan of Zephyrhills, Florida and Rhonda Cox Ramey (David) of Soldotna, Alaska; a dear friend, Joyce Oxendine, of Knoxville; nephews, Jimmy Henderlight (Sissy), Jeff Henderlight (Tammy), Jerry Martin (Beth), Joel Martin (Missy), Chris Arp (Donna), Tony Harrison (Becky), Jim Hazelwood (Lora), and David Ramey (Rhonda). In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Building Fund-Christ United Methodist Church, 7535 Maynardville Highway, Knoxville, TN 37938, and/or to Kerbela Shriners for Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 868, Knoxville, TN 37901-0868. Funeral service 7:00 pm Wednesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with Rev. John Holland officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45 am Thursday at Fort Sumter Community Cemetery for an 11:00 am interment. Honorary pallbearers: Gene Major, Jimmy Henderlight, Jeff Henderlight, Jerry Martin, Joel Martin, Chris Arp, Tony Harrison, Jim Hazelwood, and David Ramey. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 pm Wednesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel. www.mynattfh.com

Fran, you were my dear genealogy friend for the past 23 years. I will miss sending messages back and forth about our Sanderson Family. You were a kind and giving person and I will miss our correspondence.
