Matthew Clemente Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 22, 2024.

Matthew Gerard "Buck" Clemente passed away on June 22nd, 2024 on the Colorado River in a drift boat accident near his home in New Castle, CO. He was 42 years old.

Matt was a beloved son, brother, father and friend. He was the life of the party everywhere he went. He loved making everyone laugh and gave the best hugs. He loved spending time outdoors and on the water. Matt was a friend to all he knew and would give you the shirt off his back. He loved his job and found his calling as an emergency department "murse". During the COVID-19 Pandemic, he became a traveling nurse and helped people in several states. He most recently settled into working at Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs and in Aspen Valley Hospital, not far from his home. He was diligently working toward setting up his own in-home healthcare business to bring his nursing gifts to those that needed them directly at the time of his passing.

Raised in Colorado Springs, Matt graduated from Coronado High School in 1999. He then attended Ft. Lewis College in Durango, CO, making many life-long friends before graduating, and moving to the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus where he graduated with his nursing degree in 2011.

While he loved his job and the outdoors, Matt loved his family most of all. His children brought him more joy than anything. He loved taking them camping, boating, and spending hours being the goofy, fun-loving dad that he was. Matt is survived by his three little ones; Jasper (9), Pepper (8), and Prairie (5). We know that Matt's children will carry his spirit with them and his love deep in their hearts. Matt is also survived by his father; John M. Clemente and step-mother Leslie Clemente, his mother; Laura Dunn and step-father William Dunn, his younger brother Nicholas Clemente, and his older sister Melissa Jeffrey and her family; spouse Amie Jeffrey and their children, Joseph and Cooper. Matt also leaves behind too many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends to mention.

Gone far too soon, but never to be forgotten. We will hold him in our hearts, cherish our memories, and live our lives to the fullest as he would want us to do.
