Matthew Hauser Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 15, 2025.
Matthew Hauser, 28, passed away on February 12, 2025, in Johnstown, New York. Born on February 26, 1996, in Gloversville, New York, Matthew lived a life filled with creativity, adventure, and deep connections with those around him.

A skilled welder and sculptor, Matthew's artistry shone through his work. He was employed at Schenectady Steel as a welder and had a passion for crafting intricate metal sculptures. His craftsmanship reflected his dedication and artistic vision, making each piece a testament to his skill and creativity.

Matthew embraced life with enthusiasm and an adventurous spirit. After graduating from the Lyndonville Institute in Vermont, he spent several years exploring Alaska's vast landscapes. He found joy in hiking the trails of Alaska, Montana, and the Catskills whenever he could. His thirst for adventure led him to bungee jump upside down in Australia and even skydive-always seeking the thrill of the unknown.

He was also looking forward to building his future. He had been planning to purchase his first home in Johnstown and was excited about the life ahead of him with his partner Amber Synakowski and her two daughters.

Matthew is survived by his mother and stepfather, April and Daryl Cross of Coxsackie; his father Bruce Hauser of New Hampshire; his older brother Andrew and wife Grace; and three younger brothers: Chase, Isaac, and Jeremiah. He is also survived by his beloved aunts Shauna, Julie, Amy, and John Webber; his niece Shiloh Grace; several great-aunts, uncles, cousins; his grandfather Bruce Hauser and Andrea of Broadalbin; and grandmother Diane of Vermont.

He was predeceased by his grandfather Roy Miller; grandmother Jo Ann Ackerknecht (Doug); step-grandparents Wilbur and Norma Cross of Catskill; and cousin Nathan Wood.

A funeral service will be held on February 21, 2025, at Gospel Community Church, 121 Mansion St., Coxsackie, New York 12051. The service will begin at 2:00 PM. Dessert and coffee after service.

Matthew's kind heart, hardworking nature, and adventurous soul will be deeply missed by all who knew him. "My flesh no longer contends with the world while in God's hand. May His mercy of the Almighty take my soul and care for it, though my father meets me there where I am still." May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him.

I am Fawn Perotti Safety Manager at Schenectady Steel.
I had the pleasure of working with Matthew these last few months and I am truly saddened about his passing. He was a hard worker and did a great job while he was here. When I would do my walk throughs he was always "Hey! How are you?" with a smile. I am sure I speak for everyone that worked with him when I say he will be missed greatly here.
My thoughts go out to his family.
