Matthew Rota Obituary
Born and raised in Quincy, he graduated from Millis High School. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, having served on the USS Enterprise (CVN-65).
He is survived by his son, Kaiden C. Rota of North Attleboro; his mother, Linda Rota Barron and her husband John of Sherborn; his father, Alan Howarth and his wife Mary Ann of Braintree; his siblings, Jason Howarth and his wife LeeAnn of Texas, Christopher Barron and his wife Sonia of Fla., Allison Howarth of Braintree and Nicole Barron Shaw and her husband CJ of N.H.; also survived by his nieces and nephews, Madyson, Mia and Tyler Howarth and Wes Barron and loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Church, Quincy, Wednesday morning at 10. Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Tuesday 4 - 8 p.m. Burial Milton Cemetery.

I just found out that you passed. My deepest condolences go out to your family. It's been a very long time since I saw you last but it hit me hard! You will be missed. Words cannot describe the true feelings of the heart. We struggle with questions, we feel anger and we are overcome with grief. We always say time heals all wounds, but we know deep down, we don't have that time. So instead, we should focus on the many things that made this man so great...his dedication to serving his Country as a US Sailor, being a Dad, a son, a brother, a friend, a loyal companion and so much more.
It is true, he will never be forgotten, but when he is thought of, celebrate the joy we all shared with him and not his early departure.
Rest easy my friend.
