Matthew Shipley Obituary
Chesapeake - Matthew Eric Shipley, 34, passed away on Nov. 3, 2016.
Matthew proudly served in the US Army and was a Disabled Army Iraq Veteran.
Left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Aidan & Landyn Shipley; father, Bill Callaway-Shipley & husband Christian; mother, Ava Goodnow Shipley & step father Dean Vitasek, Sr.; sister, Amanda Shipley; 3 brothers, Bill Shipley, Jr., Nick Shipley and Adam Shipley; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tues., Nov. 8 from 6-8:30pm at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 1pm, Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016 in the Funeral Home Chapel. A committal will follow at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to www.gofundme.com/matt-shipley-and-children-trustfund Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com

Matt served with me both at Fort Bragg and in Iraq. He was a great soldier to have had in my unit. He will be missed.

We dated in high school then i moved and you came to the lake house to visit me. we were always close and you got me thru my divorce and make me laugh in the worse times in my life. thank you for 20 years of friendship. love you always and forever.
