MAUREEN O'KEEFE, on May 31, 2015. Beloved wife for 43 years to Bruce S., loving mother of Caitlin (Leonardo) Trasande, Kevin (Katie Eyer) and Cristin O'Keefe Aptowicz, devoted daughter of the late John and Marie O'Keefe, dear sister of Michael, Gerry and Deirdre O'Keefe, cherished grandmother of Cian, Camilo, Lucas, Ramiro and Declan. Family and friends are invited to Maureen's Life Celebration Saturday June 6, 2015 begin-ning at 1 P.M. from JOHN F. GIVNISH OF ACADEMY ROAD, 10975 Academy Rd., Phila. 19154. Memorial Service at 2 P.M. In lieu of flowers, Maureen would wish for donations to be made to the American Association of University Women, whose mission is to promote women in college and an organization for which she worked tirelessly. I attended St. Martin's and Little Flower with Maureen. I remember her as a very gifted student who was kind and encouraging to her fellow classmates. I am sorry for your loss.

To the family,
I was shocked and saddened to hear about Maureen. I worked with her at IRS. She was intelligent, hardworking and funny. She did it all with class. When she accepted a new position, she recommended me to the Director to fill her shoes. I didn't think I could do it...but she did. And, as it turned out, I loved the job. She will be missed. What a fine person.

To Bruce and the entire family. You have my sincere condolences and prayers. Maureen and I worked together many years ago at the IRS on Roosevelt Blvd., Training. I retired in 2000 and had not talked to Maureen in several years. But she was the nicest and most eloquent lady I had met. She was certainly an asset to the organization and to whatever she committed herself to. She will be missed. May God bless you and keep you and give you peace.

Maureen was one of those people, who you just knew would be around when she was needed. She was talented and always cheerful and it was a blessing to work with her. She loved her family and was very proud of all of their accomplishments, which she would share with us. I am a better person for having known her. In honor of her Irish background:

I never did meet Maureen. I do follow the work of her daughter Cristin O'Keefe. I met Cristin once. My condolences to the Aptowicz family during this very difficult and very painful time. I hope that the memories of Maureen stay with them always.

Maureen and I were classmates at Little Flower. We met again when she started working at the IRS. She was the funniest, smartest and most articulate person I've ever met. With all that, her greatest joy was her children. So sorry for your loss.
