Maureen ARNOLD Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Sep. 21 to Sep. 22, 2011.
MAUREEN ARNOLD (NEE BOYCE)
April 8, 1937 - September 17, 2011
Beloved daughter of the late John Boyce and Norah McCarthy. Dearly loved and cherished wife of Wayne Paul Arnold. Dear sister-in-law of Roy (Carole), Neville (Cathy), Brian (Leda) and the late Robert, and aunt of Sharon (Scott) Morrison.
Also missed by many cousins in the USA, B.C., Ontario and U.K. and numerous friends and former colleagues.
Maureen was born in Scotland and grew up in Merseyside, England. She went to Teachers' college in Salford Manchester by the cobbles of Coronation St.
As a young teacher Maureen came to Montreal and had a rewarding career as a teacher and administrator in the wonderful schools of the English Sector of the Montreal Catholic School Commission (CECM). This she considered to be her life's work.
On retirement her numerous activities made a fulfilling life as she curled, gardened, sewed, played bridge, read voraciously, travelled back to U.K. and took pride, with Wayne, in decorating and entertaining in their home. As an educator, believing in Iife long learning, she embraced the projects of the University Womens' Clubs in one of which she held the office of President.
Many thanks to Dr. Tataryn and to the staff and volunteers of the oncology department of St. Mary's Hospital and to the CLSC Lac St. Louis for great compassion and support.
Visitation will take place at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home, 222 Autoroute 20, Pointe-Claire, Quebec, H9S 3X6, (514) 483-1870 on Thursday, September 22, 2011 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, September 23, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday September 24, 2011 at 10 a.m. at St-Edmund of Canterbury Church, 105 Beaconsfield Blvd., Beaconsfield, Quebec. Burial will take place at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers donations in Maureen's memory to the oncology department of St. Mary's Hospital would be appreciated.

Dear Mr. Arnold,

Please accept my sincere and heartfelt sympathy. May God give you the strength at this difficult time. I have fond memories of Mrs. Arnold. She was a wonderful lady and will never be forgotten. Nine years ago, I lost my husband to cancer (brain tumor). It hasn't been easy but God has given me the strength to keep going and I pray that He will also give you guidance and strength.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.
