As a neighbour from childhood times, I was horrified and shocked to hear that dearest Max had died. As a Christian myself, I will catch up with you in Heaven one day. Rest in our Father in Heavens arms. So sorry for the family. I am very shocked!

My condolences to Dr Simpson's family, I have been a patient for over 25 years and my mother for many years as well, who Dr Simpson enabled to see even though she was legally blind.
He was a kind, caring doctor who will be missed by all he treated, I know I miss him as my doctor already. I never knew my last visit with him would be the last. RIP Dr Simpson. Margot Robinson.

I met Dr Simpson 20 years ago when I was first diognosed with severe macular degeneration. I was scared as you can imagine as I was only 42 years old but Dr Simpson was so kind and caring and always attentive to me. He could not do much for me but to check every year on my progress. Each visit he would always give me hope. Never a negative word was spoken. His last words to me were " Robyn never allow anyone to experiment on your eyes ... leave well alone and let God be in control." I never realised at the time he was so unwell and this was to be my last visit to him...RIP Max "till Jesus comes"and may God comfort his family at this time .

I will never forget his new video camera in our trip to China in 1985. He sat at the front of the bus with this huge thing. He didn't miss a thing. He loved the trip..so did we all.
