May Bamlett Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 29 to Mar. 30, 2006.
BAMLETT _ May F. 1915 - 2006 It is with great sadness the family of May Florence Bamlett announces her passing on March 25, 2006 at the Carewest George Boyack Nursing Home. May will be forever loved and remembered by her only daughter May (Carl) Johnson of Red Deer. May, also known as Nanny and Nanny B., will always be remembered by her grandson Christopher Ross of Calgary; by her "additional" family of granddaughters, Glenda (Chuck) Henne of Drayton Valley, AB, Deb (Pat) Holland of Kindersley, SK, and grandsons, Brian (Lisa) Johnson of Kindersley, SK and Kevin Johnson of Edmonton, AB. Others remembering Nanny B. are eight great-grandchildren, Jaymie, Jennifer, Dallas, Shauna, Ian, Chantil, Murray and Kaylee, as well as four great-great-grandchildren. May will also be sadly missed by several nieces, nephews, family and many dear friends. Throughout the years of her busy life May-Nanny B. was always there for anyone who needed her. She was a wonderful volunteer not only at the Carewest George Boyack Nursing Home where she received many pins with fifteen hundred hours, but also throughout the Bow Valley Foundation complex. May also volunteered at the church she attended and loved, Central United Church downtown. Over the years, May also volunteered for the CNIB, the Cancer Society as well as with may other organizations. May was always full of life. She loved her family, church, painting, gardening, music and dancing. In her later years she loved reading with the Grade 1 students at Langevin School. She was always willing to help out and her caring, friendly way will be sadly missed by anyone who met her. A Celebration of May's Life will take place in the Chapel of MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME on Friday, March 31, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Michael Ward officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to Alberta Cancer Foundation (the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331 - 29 Street N.W., Calgary, AB, T2N 4N2). My name is Bonny and I have known May for approx. 5 years since meeting her while delivering flowers for Central United Church. I had since taken her to church and out for drives, coffee etc. while growing to love her dearly. She was so outgoing, had a great sense of humor and I loved her company. Unfortunately I was unable to get a hold of her for the last 3 months so planned to go visit her over Easter. It was a day ago, I heard of her passing and was heartbroken. She leaves with me the memory of a wonderful, warm and tender lady who I am so grateful to have met and thankful that the good Lord had her cross my path and into my life, if only for a few years. I will never, ever forget her. Her friend, Bonny

I am writing this for my Mother Alice Lawrence. Mom was so sorry to hear about May, they became friends many years ago. Mom's health isn't very good and she always felt badly that she didn't get to see her very often in the past few years. She always felt that May was very special, and she sends you her prayers, and deepest sympathy.
