I met Mikey in Swansboro when he was here working alongside Jeff. He worked in my home and some of my friends and family´s homes as well. Mikey was always kind, knowledgeable and ready to lend a helping hand. I enjoyed talking with him and I know he will be missed by his friends and family. Rest in Peace sweet Mikey!

Michael was a good person. Definitely a great guitar player. I remember being at a family function at his parents house, and he was having fun singing songs/playing music with (I believe) his band. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. He was definitely one of a kind.

Michael holds a special place in my heart. His whole family does. I have so many memories of him growing up. His Mother is my beloved best friend. Our kids grew up together. His loss is incredibly unbearable for so many. Our hearts are broken. This is one of my favorite pictures of Michael with my daughter Krystal. Rest peacefully Michael. Jennifer, Bob, Brianna, Connor, Chase I love you all. May you find peace and comfort in your memories.

My favorite part about visiting Ohio was seeing my cousins. Michael always made sure I was included and, of course, teased me about my "terrible" taste in music in high school! Last year we discovered we both lived in North Carolina and only 30 minutes apart. He came to my daughters birthday party in June and it was so nice to connect with him. I was very excited to have family close! We attempted to get together in the following months but jobs, kids, and life got in the way. I would love to have spent more time with him since he was "just down the road" but I will always be grateful we got to see each other one more time.
Sending love to the entire family. I will miss Michael very much. As our grandma would always say, fly like the wind Michael. Love you.

Hanging out with my cousins was the best part about visiting Ohio growing up. Michael always included me and, of course, teased me about my "terrible" taste in music in high school! We tried to get together in the months following but jobs, kids, and life got in the way. I wish I could see him again especially since he was "just down the road", but i´m forever grateful we connected last year. I will miss him very much and wish I could travel to celebrate him. Sending love to the entire family. As our grandma would always say, fly like the wind Michael. Love you.

I didn't know Mike well, but what I do know is how helpful he was to our organization while he worked at Pet Supplies Plus in orrville.
we run a rescue and run a pet food pantry. he ALWAYS loaded us up with things that we've never gotten since.
he believed in what we stood for.

Michael and I grew up together. He was more like a brother than a cousin, and I knew that he would be there for me and love me no matter what. Even when I had absolutely no one else, I had Michael. We shared things with each other that we never shared with anyone else. Secrets, fears, dreams. That's a special type of relationship that I will only ever share with him. I'll miss him more than I can put into words.

I have known the Benson family for years. Played softball with Michael's father, uncle, cousin and even his grandfather. Those years hold a special place in my life. I watched Michael grow through the years. From an energetic boy to a bright teenager then to a accomplished adult. All the Halloween parties, family outings, years with the Benson "clan" I will always hold dear. It hurts me, not only for his family, but for anyone who knew Michael.
Not only have we lost a son, a brother, a cousin, a friend but more so the greater part of ourselves.
Our hearts ache. Rest easy Michael.

I loved this moment with Mike at the Bacon Fest. I was the opening act and Mike sat, watched, and cheered as I played. While everyone did their own thing Mike listened and stayed for and to every song. I had the pleasure of meeting him during his two years at the Tri-C High School Rock-Off. I enjoyed watching him play on stage and seeing his passion for music. My condolences to the family.
