MICHAEL BURGESS Obituary
Of Bethel Park, on Wednesday, October 10, 2012, age 55, after a long, courageous fight with a long-term illness. Fiance and soulmate of Lorie Belback; son of the late Flo and Hugh Burgess; brother of Tom Burgess and Alice (Jack) Jackanic; uncle of Matthew (Carley) Jackanic; great-uncle of Avery and Chase Jackanic. Visitation Friday 4 -9 p.m. and Saturday, Noon to 4 p.m. at the DAVID J. HENNEY FUNERAL HOME, 6364 Library Rd. (Rt. 88) Library, where a Blessing Service will be Saturday at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family. "It ain't easy being MIKE-E-B."

My sympathy goes out to the Burgess family. I've known Mike since 1st. grade at St. Anne's. I haven't seen him in a few years and was sorry to here of his passing. Rest In Peace, Mike (Peacock)

Memories of Mike go way back to grade school at St Anne for me. All the girls hoped "Michael Burgess" would be in their classroom. At least as far as I know we all had crushes on M.B. at one time or another. I recall the girls-Cindy, Lynn, Kim and myself walking past his house on Blossom Hill trying to get a glimpse of him and how exciting it would be to have him come out and talk with us...ha ha that never happened. But as time went on we all grew to be close friends and had so many good times together sharing laughs and tears.
May the light of Christ shine on Mike now and forever Amen.

I see my cousin Mike in my mind at several different ages, but the faces are all smiling--no--laughing that hearty, shoulder-shaking laugh with his eyes twinkling. It seems that when you talked to him, he wanted to send you off smiling at some wry comment he'd made. I know, too, that he loved and honored his family. I am thinking of all of you.

About my brother Mike-e-b - He loved Lorie, his family, Lorie's family, his friends, to travel, vacations with us in Mexico, going to the 'lake' (John Pape's), hunting and fishing, his Harley, riding with friends, and to laugh. Boy, did he love to laugh. He loved life, even when it was hard. At his Bike Benefit he told us all that 'if a man's worth was measured by his family and company he kept he would be a millionair.' He was closer to being a billionair. He was generous, kind, loving, and a hell raiser at times. He had stories to share, jokes to tell and hugs to give. He was the type of person you wanted to be around. He was the kind of man everyone would want as a brother. I was so very lucky to actually have him as mine. We will all think of him every day. I miss him. My heart hurts. I know his spirit is somewhere riding a Harley. The world is a little less bright today. It lost one of the best people I've ever known.
