It's incredible to think of how long it's been since I've last seen you, and I can't believe how fast the time has past. I'm 18 Now and Luke's 10, he's one hell of a brother and I can't begin to express how great of a kid he is. Even though we were only able to spend such a short amount of time together I will never forget everything you have done for me and the way you were able to bring so much joy, happiness, laughter and love to my life and how I miss that feeling so much. I was able to watch a few videos of you from when you where younger and I can honestly say I have never and most likely will never meet someone as cheerful, kind, caring and funny as you. I'm truly truly blessed to have been able to call you my dad and I can't wait to share all the great memories we had with Luke. I miss you and I'll always think about you.
Love you dad

I've waited until now to sign this guestbook to be able to put into words what Michael meant to me, and I’m still not sure it’s possible.
It’s been said that a friend is someone who knows everything about you, but likes you anyways.
To this, Michael was my best friend.
All I have learned about being a friend I have learned from him.
Goodbye, Michael. I love you and your memory will guide me through the rest of my life as I try to be the friend you taught me to be.
Loving, caring, selfless.

You would know the secret of death.
But how shall you find it unless you seek it in the heart of life?
The owl whose night-bound eyes are blind unto the day cannot unveil the mystery of light.
If you would indeed behold the spirit of death, open your heart wide unto the body of life.
For life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one.
In the depth of your hopes and desires lies your silent knowledge of the beyond;
And like seeds dreaming beneath the snow your heart dreams of spring.
Trust the dreams, for in them is hidden the gate to eternity.
Your fear of death is but the trembling of the shepherd when he stands before the king whose hand is to be laid upon him in honour.
Is the sheered not joyful beneath his trembling, that he shall wear the mark of the king?
Yet is he not more mindful of his trembling?
For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?
And what is to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?
Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing.
And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb.
And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance.

Remember
Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.

My deepest sympathy to all of the Charles family. Michael was a very big part of my life in high school, one of my closest friends. He always had the most beautiful smile, full of light and love. He always tried to make others happy. He was a wonderful person, and it makes me sad that we lost touch for so long, only to reconnect recently. It is always hard to lose a loved one, especially one as special as Michael.

To my dear friend, Tanya and the Charles Family,
I am so very sorry to hear of your profound loss. Tanya, you are a wonderful friend and your devotion to your brother, Michael, and your family during these past months has just reinforced what a special person, and by extension, your family is. Even though, sadly, I never met Michael personally, I have no doubt, being part of such a loving family, that he was a great man. I am sorry I cannot be there with you over the next few days but my heartfelt thoughts are with you and your family.

To all the Charles Family,
Let there be memories--fond recollections of special occasions and everyday things. Let your heart start on its journey to healing by feeling the comfort remembering brings. Let there be memories--pictures, mementos, and favorite stories both funny and sad. Let your mind wander the paths of remembrance, reliving the joys and the good times you've had. Let there be memories--signs that our loved ones remain near in spirit long after they're gone...tender, surprising, heartwarming, and welcome--sweet proof of the promise that love will live on.
May warm memories surround you and bring you comfort.

Michael touched so many lives with his love of life and his inexaustable generosity. Memories of all the times shared at Musicircle, Normico, and his house in Pierrefonds will remain with me forever. Mike grabbed hold of life tenaciously with both hands, and in the course of his 38 years has lived many lifetimes. His spirit lives on in all of our hearts and he has left an enduring print on this world. Mike will be sorely missed, and always remembered.

I sat here the last few days trying to find the right words to express my deepest sympathy to his wonderful wife Nancy and sons Pablo and Luke, and the Charles family. This has not been the easiest time for many. The time Mike and I spent together were the best times of my life, I have yet to meet someone like Mike that has made me laugh, feel good and motivate me to be strong in life, as he was. Mike, you will be deeply missed, the days to come will be difficult without you, not hearing your voice everyday will be the hardest. There just isn’t enough room to write all the good times down, rest assure, they will always be in my heart as my heart will always be with you and your family. It was with great pleasure as well as my promise to be by your side until the end. I will always love you and remember you and your strength, as well as your laugh and smile. God give us the strength to carry on without you.

Dear Alice, Norman, Cindy, Gary, Cookie, my dearest friend Tanya, & Nancy,
I am having a difficult time finding the words to express the sadness I feel for a life lost far too soon. May you find some comfort in the knowledge that Michael touched the lives of many people and was loved so very much. I have so many wonderful memories of Michael, all of which bring a smile through the tears…
His hysterical laugh, Cheneville (I remember Mike Mondor's ride!), Musicircle, many dinners at Crystal Palace after work, driving to a trade show in Toronto for Normico, Animal House, his way of always “telling it like it is”, his hysterical laugh, mostly his laugh… I will miss him very much.
My heart goes out to you all and Pablo and Luke and all of his beautiful nieces and nephews.

Words cannot express how sorry I am to hear of Michael’s passing. I’ve been sitting here looking at pictures of “the old days in Cheneville” from as far back as the early ‘70s. I smiled, and I cried. In one of them, Michael was only 5 years old. Another, he was fishing on the dock with that BIG smile that we all know so well. I have only fond memories of that time when your family and my family became so close. In what seems like no time at all Michael became a man and then had his own family. Now, he no longer suffers from his pain and he rests in peace. May God give all of you the strength and courage to guide you through this time of unimaginable grief. Michael’s smile and amazing personality, and all the great times in Cheneville with Michael and all of you, will be embedded in my memory forever.
In my thoughts and prayers,

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
