Michael J "Fox" Fox

Michael J. Fox, aged 78, passed away on February 7, 2024, in his hometown of North Salt Lake City, Utah. Born on September 24, 1946, in the same city, Michael, affectionately known as Fox, led a life marked by deep personal relationships and a varied and fulfilling career.

He spent his educational years locally, graduating from Heber High School before achieving higher education at BYU. Professionally, Michael dedicated many years to the Utah Press, ultimately serving as the Executive Director. His contributions to the field were profound and left a lasting impact on local journalism.

Beyond his professional life, Michael was deeply loved and supported by his husband, Marcus E. Zafarano, who stood by his side, especially during times when others could not. His personal interests were diverse and vibrant; he traveled the world, indulged in painting, and actively participated in voice and dog shows, experiencing both the highs of victory and the humbling moments of defeat. These experiences taught him to cherish each success even more.

Michael is survived by his husband, Marcus Zafarano. He did not leave behind any preceding relatives but will be remembered by friends and family for his rich and passionate life.

Services to honor Michael's life will be held on September 15, 2020, at Heber Cemetery at 12:00 pm. Arrangements are under the care of Neptune Society, located in Salt Lake City, Utah.
