MICHAEL HESSNEY
ITHACA - Michael Hessney, 95, of 503 South Titus Ave., Ithaca, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at the Beechtree Care Center. Born April 30, 1914 in Canandaigua, New York, son of the late Charles and Mary Hessney.
Mike was a member of St. Michael's Orthodox Church in Geneva, New York; a veteran of WWII; and lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 961; also an avid golfer and bowler, and he loved traveling. He was the manager of the former Ithaca Hotel and also the Meadow Court Motel.
Survivors include his sister, Mamie Hessney of Geneva; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his wife, Ethlyn Hessney (2003).
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 6, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Bangs Funeral Home with Rev. Fr. Gregory Murphy of St. Michael's Orthodox Church officiating. Burial to follow with full Military Honors at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Michael's Orthodox Church, Geneva, New York.

Our deepest sympathies for your loss. Mike and Ethlyn were our 1st landlords after we got married in 1960. They were a great couple.
