Michael L. Hoffman, 68, of Boyertown, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at the Pottstown Hospital after a brief illness.

Born on April 3, 1956, in Reading, PA, Michael was the son of the late William and Jean (Angstadt) Hoffman. Michael was a graduate of Boyertown High School's Class of 1974.

Michael's family was his greatest pride. Surviving him is his daughter, April L. Cohen, and her husband, Mitch; his brothers Daniel W. Hoffman (husband of Kathleen), David A. Hoffman (husband of Dawn), and sister Sandra J. Hoffman (life partner of Regina Bridges). Michael also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Emily, Austin, and Madison Hoffman, and Robert Bridges, his step-grandson, Brandon, his loyal Jack Russell Terrier, Ellie, who brought him endless joy, and his long-time best friend Lynda Stoudt.

Michael was a beloved father, a Certified Journeyman Machinist, and a man of many talents and interests. He spent seven unforgettable years as a member of the rock band "Creed," sharing his love of music with audiences around the Boyertown area. Michael also served as an officer of the Boyertown Rod & Gun Club for seven years and was a dedicated trapshooting enthusiast, earning the title of Amateur Trapshooting Association Champion. He was a member of the Berks County Trapshooting Team.

Michael spent six years as an assistant coach for the Pine Forge Girls Fast Pitch Softball teams. His love of motorcycles and the open road led him to become an active Harley Owners Group (HOG) member. As treasurer of Eagle HOG for eight years starting in 1998, Michael embodied the spirit of freedom and camaraderie that comes with riding. "He is riding free now."

A celebration of Michael's life will be held with a memorial luncheon on January 17th from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm at The Oley Fair Centre in Oley, PA. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring a life well-lived.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Michael's memory to one of the following charities: the Boyertown Community Ambulance Service, 2nd E. 2nd Street, Boyertown, PA 19512, the Oley Valley Community Fair Association, PO Box 55, Oley, PA 19547, or the Boyertown Rod & Gun Club, 294 Sunset Hill Road, Boyertown, PA 19512.

Sadly just realized Mike had passed in December... went to wish him a happy birthday today didn´t realize until another friend told me that it was a heavenly birthday.
Grew up in the neighborhood with Mike and the family in the early 1960s in Engleville with Mike and his family.

I´ve lost contact over the years, but about five years ago reconnected on media had been really busy myself, when I realized that we hadn´t messaged each other for a while.

Sincere condolences to the entire family! So very sorry for your loss.

Mike was a great guy and will be missed!

I remember the sledding down the big hills at the Angstadt farm.....Mike always wanted to go fast and faster (a little scary really), but fun with the cousins, Eddie, Gerry, Danny.....and then Grandmom A always warmed us up by the woodstove......we were WET and cold. Cousin, Deb

When I was 17 years old, I lost my drivers license for a month. I was riding my bicycle home one night from Boyertown and had a bad accident and destroyed the bike. My face was bloody so I started walking home which would´ve been about a 5 mile walk Mike came upon me walking with a bloody T-shirt wrapped around my face And asked me if I needed a ride. He took me home. I will never forget that kind generous thing he had done for me.

Mike hired me as a bowmaker at Sheerlund. That job was a lot of fun even though it only lasted a short time. I enjoyed working with him. He was a great guy.
