Michael Maley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Oct. 20 to Oct. 21, 2022.
Michael Derek Maley, 58, left this earth on October 17, 2022 at 3:55 PM. He passed away at home after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Michael was born in Dearborn, Michigan and grew up in Brandon, Florida, graduating from Brandon High. He was an avid golfer from the age of 7; his loved ones teased that Michael was never on time for anything except tee time. He played softball in Tampa and Altamonte Springs and was a diehard Tampa Bay Buccaneers Fan.

Michael worked hard, played hard and was always a friend to those in need. His friendships - especially his fellow sports buddies - were deep and meaningful. Michael loved his wife, 80's music, his golden retrievers - Bella and Lexi - and he never met a stranger.

He is survived by his wife, Jesse Maley, son, Derek Maley (Scott), of Mount Vernon, Georgia, his father, Terrence Maley (The Villages), his brother Steven (Susan) of Brandon, his sister, Terry Dickens (Randy) of Jacksonville, his nieces and nephews Morgan Dickens (Jacksonville), Jordan Dickens (Jacksonville), Lauren Maley (Orlando) and Marcus Maley (Tampa). He was preceded in death by his mother, Sue Ann Maley, his twin sister Melody Maley and sister Kelly Maley. He was greatly loved by his extended family by marriage to Jesse, Ronald and Pauleta Mickley (deceased) of Missouri, Paula and Jerry Ireland (Virginia), their daughter Charis, Jodi and Hans Pfadt (Maryland) and their children Hannah Dunston (Blake), Hans, Heidi and Hope Pfadt.

A celebration of his life will be held at The Deltona Club, 1120 Elkcam Blvd. Deltona, FL 32725 on Sunday October 30, 2022 at 2pm. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Mid Florida Golden Retriever Rescue.
