Michael passed away peacefully in the presence of his wife and three daughters on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the age of eighty. Beloved husband of 56 years to Margaret Gallagher O'Rourke. Loving father of Colleen Miller (Dan), Kelley-Ann Thomassin (Gregg) and Patricia Thomassin (Paul). Treasured grandfather of Sean & Patrick Miller, Katie (Romain), Jenny-Lee (Yannick), Sara (Graeden), Louise and Michael Thomassin, Daniel, Caroline and Emily Thomassin. Also survived by his sisters Audrey Gossage, Maureen McCleery (Terry) and Kathleen Nadeau (the late Gaston). He will be missed by many relatives and friends. Michael was the Director of Marketing at the Canadian National Railway where he proudly worked for close to 50 years. A visitation will take place Friday, September 6, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Sources Blvd. DDO 514-685-3344. The service and reception will be celebrated on site following the visitation. Donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society. I remember Mike from when I worked at CN, but really got to know him much better as his customer at Alcan. I didn't know your dad extremely well, but every time I saw him he had a smile on his face and seemed to really appreciate and enjoy his family. The loss of parent is devastating, speaking from personal experience, but I know they will always be with us in spirit. xoxoxo
