Eugene Porter
Michael Eugene Porter, age 61, of Hudson, OH passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017.
He was the beloved husband of Mary (nee Stewart) Porter; loving father of Adam (Rachel) Porter and Matthew (Lindsay) Porter; dear grandfather of Levi, Jack, Cole and Casey Porter; beloved son of Olga (nee Bozlinski) and the late James Porter; loving brother of Cynthia (Mark) Macek; and dear uncle & great uncle of many.
Mike loved life. Playing with his grandsons was the absolute joy of his life. Mike was retired from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company where he was Director of Global Environmental Health and Safety. He loved hunting, being in the woods, and working outside. Mike served as an elder at the West Stow Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He completely loved his family, his friends and his God Jehovah.
The family will receive friends 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. SATURDAY, MAY 6, 2017 at the West Stow Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4092 Darrow Rd., Stow, OH 44224 where a closing memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made by visiting www.jw.org. Forty or so years ago I vowed to someday look up Mike and Mary so I could apologize in person for missing their wedding. What a wonderful couple! I continued to think I was going to try to reconnect with them until this week, when I stumbled upon this obituary on the Internet. I am shaken by this. Saying sorry seems so inadequate now, but I want to say I hope Mary and all family members find consolation in happy memories.

My deepest sympathy for your loss
I worked for Goodyear and for Mike in a variety of roles - at various pivotal points in my early career, Mike provided much needed insight, guidance, mentorship and opportunity.
He was instrumental and influential in my career development and choices. I will always be thankful for the investment he made in me personally and the valuable advice he provided.
He will certainly be missed.

If everyone was listed who is heartbroken and crying since we heard about Mike, there wouldn't be enough space in newspaper for all of the names.
