Michael Rogoschewsky Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 24, 2009.
ROGOSCHEWSKY, Michael John January 18, 1956 April 21, 2009 Michael John Rogoschewsky was born in Regina, SK on January 18, 1956. He grew up at Dilke on the family farm and is survived by his mother, Helen; four sisters, Barbarann (Wayne), Joanne (Larry), Paulette (Steve), Linda (Cameron); and one brother, James (Joyce); six nieces, eleven nephews, four great nieces and four great nephews. He was predeceased by his father in January 1987. Mike is also survived by Holly's parents, Murray and Jean Holland; her brothers, James (Brenda) and Cory (Virginia); sisterin-law, Angela (Brian); also by aunts, uncles and cousins on both sides. Mike developed his work ethic by milking cows and serving mass before he went to school. Mike's greatest joys were his children; Christopher and Ryan. His greatest concern about his illness was leaving the boys behind at a young age. Mike is their special angel in his eternal life. Family, co-workers and friends were a huge part of his life. Special thanks to Dr. Karen King and staff at the Cross Cancer Foundation. Many thanks also to Dr. James Bell and staff at Grandin Medical Clinic. Mike is now free of pain. We are so proud of his participation in cancer research. The funeral service will be held at St. Jean Baptiste Parish in Morinville at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2009. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cross Cancer Institute. To my hockey friend Chris and his family, our hearts are saddened at the passing of your Dad. Our hockey community will miss the support that he brought to the games. His love for hockey was no secret so continue to make him proud and find comfort and strength in the Angels to help you through this hard time.

Rest in peace my old friend. It was a pleasure to work with you back in Saskatchewan before you left for Alberta. My thoughts are for your family who has had to watch you suffer the last year. Soon the day will come when the pain has lessened and the memories of your humour and impish smile will stand out and make us smile.
