Michael Cameron Sanders Jr was born on November 13th, 1970, in Hammond, IN to Minnie Williams and Michael Sanders Sr. On Thursday, September 26th, 2024, Michael made his transition to be with the Lord.He was the eldest of his 10 siblings. Michael attended the Hammond School system and graduated from Hammond High School, class of 1989. Later, that year, Michael joined the Army, where he traveled the world and served in both the US and overseas for the next 10 years.Upon discharge, Michael continued to travel the world, work and take care of his 3 children, Marquise, Shayla and Asyress. Michael than moved to Fort Wayne, IN where he bought his home and worked for the VA hospital. He enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending time with those he truly loved. Michael was very loved and respected and was known for his big contagious smile. Often friends and family would refer to him as a "gentle giant."Michael is proceeded in death by his father, Michael Cameron Sanders Sr; his sister, Talaya Ivery; maternal grandparents, Mildred and Willie Williams Sr., paternal grandparents, Odessa and Orvill Sanders Sr; his uncle Willie Williams Jr., his aunts Patricia Williams and Charlotte Austin and his cousins, Cedrick Edmond and Nenuka Jones.He leaves to cherish his love and memories his mother Minnie Williams, his three children, Marquise (Ashley) Sanders, Shayla Tyson-Sanders and Asyress Sanders; his four grandchildren, Faith, Gavin, David, Damone Sanders; four sisters Meeko Williams, Linda (Alfredo) Vasquez, Shieata Smith, My'Chell Sanders; four brothers Marlon Williams Sr., Cameron Sanders Sr., Apollo (Jasmine) Williams, Marcus Sanders, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that became family.Friday October 11th,2024 wake: 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. funeral 11:00 a.m. all services at New Community Baptist Church 707, 169th St, Hammond, In, interment Concordia Cemetery, 6551 Calumet Avenue, Hammond, In.
