Mike and I shared a lot of information on the complex precious metal ore. I finally discovered a way to speed up the process that Mike and my family was searching for. I am sure that You are looking down on me and watching my progress.

He was a true friend and his knowledge of precious metals was second to no one. I worked with Mike on a complex ore deposit and shared discoveries on this ore. Some were very wild with precious metals. Mike will be missed by all my family. I was very proud to Know Mike. Orvie Zimmerman

Mr. Thomas was one of my favorite teachers at Mullen - a great educator, role model, and mentor, and later a dear friend. RIP, Mike!

What a gifted teacher! What a wonderful Influence in the school on faculty and staff! I had the privilege of working with Michael when I was the principal at Mullen from `87 to `92. He is/was one of the great teachers that made Mullen have a lasting influence on its students. May he rest In Peace.

Mr. Thomas had a life changing effect on me at Mullen. I never got the greatest of grades but that did not phase him as a teacher because he saw how hard I tried and worked and believed in me always. At first he scared the life out of me with his beard and his cane. Then I learned to find the sound of his cane on the floor as a calming sound. He actually cared. He was their to not only teach but for the love of teaching and for wanting to have kids want to come to class. I remember him going out on a limb and letting us "blow" up a mine. I remember this day. Wow. What a trusting teacher. We were able to place the dynamite. Use the phones in the mine. And I almost had a panic attack when he trusted me to drive the heavy duty loader. I could barely drive but he trusted me to drive that thing. I told that story to so many future coworkers and colleagues. He owned that classroom, because he didn´t have to beg for respect, he earned it from day one. What a legend. Thank you for making your mark on this Earth Mr. Thomas.
Sincerely,
Christy (Urban) Mulhern

Mr. Thomas played a key role in me becoming an engineer. After taking his geology class at Mullen, I felt much confidence in my ability in the sciences. Since then, I´ve enjoyed our exchanges on FB. I will never forget him
