PAPPAS MICHELE
58, of Burgettstown, passed away on Wednesday morning August 18, 2010 in her home. She was born October 5, 1951 in Elmira, NY the only child of the late Mark Cannan and Virginia Johnston. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Burgettstown and very active in the former Our Lady of Lourdes School, especially fundraising. A 1969 graduate of West Allegheny High School, she worked with her husband at Charles Pappas, Jr. Remodeling, Burgettstown, was the former owner and groomer of Bath and Doggy Works in Florence, and worked for the Pottery Barn. She enjoyed the outdoors especially walking and gardening, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. On September 22, 1973 in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, she married Charles Pappas, Jr. who survives. Surviving in addition to her husband is her daughter Marissa Pappas Kotouch and her husband Ronald of Jupiter, FL; one son Anthony "Tony" Pappas and his wife Kearsten of Jupiter, FL; three grandsons Zakkary, Alexzander and Krystopher Pappas; her step-mother Patricia Cannan of St. Petersburg, PA; and her mother-in-law Jean Castellino and her husband Michael William of Burgettstown; and three nieces. Friends will be received on Saturday and Sunday from 1-4 and 6-9 PM in the LEE & MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown. Prayers of Transfer will begin at 10:30 AM on Monday August 23 in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, Burgettstown with The Rev. Richard J. Tusky, Presider and The Rev. Robert Connolly, Pastor, Con-celebrant. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Burgettstown. Memorial donations may be made in Michele's memory to the Michele Pappas Scholarship Fund, 723 S. Main Street, Burgettstown, PA 15021.
