A joy to all who were blessed to know her.

She was born in Prescott, WI and raised in the St. Croix Valley. With her beloved Don, she spent most of her 57 years of marriage in Afton. After raising her family, she returned to school for nursing, enjoying her career well into her late 60s. Dedicated to helping those in need, Millie was active in local and international mission work, mainly in the Caribbean. Many charities benefited from her hard work and generosity, including the Lions, 4H, Emma Norton, and Human Services Inc. Her interests in serving the Valley included 4H, Washington County Agricultural Extension, initiating bookmobile services and art organizations and helping children overcome learning difficulties. Her hobbies were reading, gardening, and jigsaw puzzles. She had a natural gift for creating quilts, which she shared with all her grandchildren and God's Closet. Preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Margaret Oehlke; step-father, Ben Urtel; brother, Fred; son, Baby Boy. Survived by her sisters, Margery Oehlke and Kathy Johnson (Larry); husband, Don; children, Bill (Sue Thomas), Jonathan (Judith), Diana Ronk (John), Allison (Kevin Krueger); 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Memorial Service will be held at Woodbury/Peaceful Grove United Methodist Church, 7645 Steepleview Rd, Woodbury MN on Saturday, October 22 at 11 AM with the visitation 10-11 AM. Private interment. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Family Means.
