Mildred Sarah Williams was born in Newton County, Texas to the union of the late McKinley and Effie Adams on October 1, 1930. She entered "Eternal Rest" Thursday, July 10, 2014. She was a faithful member of Peaceful Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, Dr. C. B. Shepherd, Paster, until her health failed.
Mildred received her early education from the public school in the Jamestown Community, Newton, Texas and continued her education at Prairie View A & M University where she received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Education. Mildred began her teaching career at Pine Tree Independent School District in Gregg County and taught there from 1952-1956. In 1957, she began teaching at Dallas Independent School District and retired after 42 years of service.
She met and married Robert Junius Williams who preceded her in death in 1978. To this union, four children were born, two of whom preceded her in death.
Mildred leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Leonard Oswald Williams and Frederick Gerald Williams (Joselle); three grandchildren, Shonda Williams Gibson (Joshua), Shavonne Williams and Shante' Williams, and a host of relatives and friends.
