Published by Legacy Remembers from Jan. 31 to Feb. 1, 2013.
Milton Hollenberg, M.D. Dr. Milton (Mickey) Hollenberg, 82, died peacefully on January 22, in Marin County, California.
Born in 1930 in Brooklyn, New York, Mickey graduated from Brooklyn College magna cum laude and Cornell University Medical College. Passionate about medicine, Mickey was a gifted and accomplished scientist, and a beloved colleague, physician, teacher, and mentor. He retired in 2008, after 50 years of service.
An avid traveler and scuba diver, Mickey had a lifelong appreciation for nature and a passion for classical music. His searching intellect, integrity, and loyalty were gifts to all who knew him.
Mickey is survived by his wife of 22 years, Carol; his daughter, Beth and her husband Clark McKown; his sister Eleanor Chasdi; his three stepchildren and their spouses; his seven grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Tina, and by his younger sister, Harriet.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the American Bach Soloists, 44 Page Street, Suite 403, San Francisco, CA 94102 (marked "In memory of Mickey Hollenberg").
According to his wishes, memorial services will be private, and will be scheduled at a later date.

Carol,Beth and family, I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Hollenberg. He was such a sweet man. I will never forget 16 years ago when I had post-partum depression and with all the family and friends who I could have gone to for help. it was Mickey who I drove to every night. He was such a comfort for me. He will be truly missed by everyone who had the joy of knowing him. All my love and prayers are with you. Annete Panichelli

Mickey was my first resident during my internship and helped me get through the loss of my first patient. I desperately needed his gentle sympathy and support at that moment. I felt bonded with him ever since and now feel the world to be changed without him.
