Monica Manko

Monica Manko, 86, formerly of Monessen, died Monday, May 6, 2003 in the Washington County Health Center. She was born May 3, 1917 in Fellsburg, daughter of the late Clements and Victoria Prybyloski. Mrs. Manko, who resided in Monessen for 50 years, was a former member of St. Leonard Roman Catholic Church in Monessen, and its Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Ladies Guild. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Manko, in 1993; one son, Edward Manko, in 1975; and three brothers, Henry, Pete and Clem Prybyloski. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and John Layman of Fallowfield Township; one grandson, John E. Layman of Fallowfield Township; one granddaughter, Melissa Layman of Los Angeles, Calif.; and one brother, Sigmund Prybyloski of Smithton. Private funeral services were held today at 10 a.m. in the YONEY and DeROSE FUNERAL HOME, Monessen, with the Rev. Paul Lisik, pastor of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church in Monessen, officiating. Interment followed in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen.
