I have been Myrons hygienist for over 40 years. He was a pleasure and a very interesting man. He always had stories for me and I looked forward to his visits. I was at his 100th Birthday Party which proved, by the large crowd, how much he was respected and loved. I will miss him greatly . Jean Smith RDH

To the Steves Family,
It was an honor and privilege to attend Myron's 100th birthday party and to have him as a guest in our home during his visits to Florida. He always remembered us at Christmas and sent us a plant as a gift and many survive to this day. He was a great man who made a difference in this world and he will be missed more than words can express. May he rest in peace. Our love,

I offer my condolences to the Steves family, employees and friends.
My family moved to 3227 South Braeswood in March 1958.
Several memories stand out. I liked his insurance theory that you get insurance to cover losses that you cannot afford. Some people have automobile insurance with no deductibles.
When I was transferring to the University of Texas at Austin in 1966, Myron and Buddy offered a ride when they were attending to affairs at the Capitol. I was surprised that Myron gave me the car keys. This made life much easier in looking for living quarters.
After my father had open hearted surgery in 1976, he came by to visit several times. One time my father mentioned that he was receiving full salary from PPG Industries while he was absent. Myron asked him if he thought PPG had paid what he was worth when he was well. My father felt better because with this idea.
Myron did many good things to help people.

I will miss Mr. Steves dearly, but feel very blessed and honored to have become his friend. He taught me so much about being faithful to a cause and acceptance of what life may bring. He embodied the spirit of being a Christian servant in all things. It was a joy to hear him speak of his wonderful family. He was so proud of them all and the pride he took in being an alum of Emory University was inspiring to anyone who was fortunate enough to hear his stories. Blessings and peace to his family and all of his friends.

Mr. Steves was a breath of fresh air to everyone he met. His wit and unique perspective never failed to educate and entertain all at once. Without raising his voice an octave, you understood exactly what he meant. It was my honor to have worked for the original 'Surplus Lion'. To his family, may the peace of God along with a lifetime of happy memories lift you up and sustain you in the days ahead.
