'Sweet but stern'

Nancy lived a long and fruitful life as a caring and active mother and grandmother, she was a giving and selfless person. She dedicated much of her life helping others through teaching, both as an elementary school teacher and throughout her life. She was quick with a smile and hug, always available for a chat or advice. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, 3 boys and 6 grandchildren. The greatest pride she had was in seeing her children become men of good character and responsibility, taking her lessons to heart of humility, respect, selfless responsibility and honesty. She was an avid reader and when she wasn't working on gardening or taking care of others, you could usually find her with a book. She will be missed by the family and friends left behind, but the lessons that touched so many are passed on.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on May 10, 2025 at Noon at Wilson St.Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main Street, Greenwood, with a mrmorial visitation one hour prior to the service.

I´m a fellow third grade teacher who learned so much from working with Nancy. Our after school pep talks were about everything from the best pencils(Black Warrior) to best practices. I cried the day she told me she was retiring, but was happy for her to enjoy time off.
I was glad to see her at our last reunion and have find memories of our days at Northeast.
