Nancy Foster Obituary
She was born August 23, 1941 in Sheffield, Pennsylvania and was a long time resident of Jamestown, NY.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Erickson Gacek, her father, Joseph G. Gacek and her sister, Patricia Gacek.
Nancy is survived by her husband Harold A. Foster, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, her daughter, Tamra Gacek of Columbia, SC, her niece, Lisa Michos Turcotte of Buffalo, NY, great-nephew, Adam M. Turcotte and great-niece, Helaina G.(Lainy) Turcotte also of Buffalo, NY, and a great many lifelong friends and cherished neighbors.
Nancy graduated from Jamestown High School in 1959 and worked as a classified ad administrator at the Jamestown Post Journal, and administrative assistant at Marlin-Rockwell and Web Machinery. Nancy was loved by many for her smile, kindness, and sense of humor. She enjoyed keeping up with friends and family through beautifully written letters and cards and appreciated the simple moments in life like feeding the hummingbirds, caring for family pets, or visiting with neighbors. She will be greatly missed and remembered those who knew her.
Memorials may be made to the Sumter County SPCA, 1140 S. Guignard Dr., Sumter, SC 29150 or your local animal shelter.
Burroughs Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Murrells Inlet, SC (843.651.1440) is assisting the family.
