Nancy Liebenow Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 15, 2011.
Mott-Liebenow Nancy Mott-Liebenow, 45, of Brigantine, NJ (formerly of Oakland, NJ), passed away on March 15th from complications following open-heart surgery. Beloved mother, daughter, sister, cousin, niece, and aunt, Ms. Mott-Liebenow graduated from Richard Stockton College with a BA in Psychology and received her teaching certification from Rutgers University. A gifted advocate for autistic children, she was a highly regarded teacher at the Center for Autism Resources at Brigantine North Middle School. Through her insight and dedication, her students were introduced to surfing last summer by participating in a program designed and implemented by Ms. Mott-Liebenow. A two-time cancer survivor and life-saving stem cell donor, she was generous of heart and spirit. She had a twinkle in her eye, a warm, welcoming smile, and laughter that lilted softly through the air like the butterflies she loved so much. She is survived by her sons; Will, 14, Brendan, 12, and Tristan, 12; parents Lorraine and Edward Mott; brother Edward Mott and Heather Irish; sister Julie Mott; ex-husband Bill Liebenow; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Nancy’s Life Celebration and Memorial Service on Saturday, March 26th at 2:00pm at the Community Presbyterian Church of Brigantine, 1501 Brigantine Ave. Brigantine. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Liebenow Boys Education fund at http://tinyurl.com/liebenowboys.
