Nancy SEAMAN Born in Salina, Kansas, on February 28th, 1932, to Victor and Lola Ross. She had three younger siblings, Victor Jr., Marjorie, and John Ross. At age 14 she moved with her family to Denver, Colorado, While attending South High School, she met her future husband, John Seaman. In 1950, Nancy got on a train and headed to Stanford University. She was the first member of her family ever to graduate from college. She later married and had four children. Nancy became a social worker in Child Protective Services for San Joaquin County. She earned an MSW from Sacramento State University while working full time. Her husband, John Seaman, was an English Profes sor at University of Pacific. Nancy was active at various times in the theater, both as an actress and as a volunteer. She was a committee woman for the Democratic Party, and volun teered at Planned Parenthood. She loved to see the Stanford Cardinal play football. Nancy loved to read and was known as "the book woman" by all who knew her. She also loved her independence. Nancy retired in the late 90s and moved to Ashland, Oregon, to be near the theaters. After a few years she moved to Bellevue, Washington, to be near her son, Mark, and her daughter, Anne. There she was helped by her children and Tata Ansari, a good friend and caregiver. She died of complications for Alzheimers with her daughter Anne at her side. Nancy is survived by her four children, Roger Seaman of Palo Alto, CA, Mark Seaman of Belle vue, WA, Martha Seaman of San Diego, CA, and Anne Boyer of Seattle, WA, and her former husband, John Seaman, of San Diego, CA, and nine grandchil dren, Spencer Seaman, Marshall Seaman, Brook Seaman, Lauren Seaman, Jocelyn Seaman, Lindsey Boyer, Claire Boyer, Emmet Bartlett, and Ian Bartlett, and one great grandson, Lucas Seaman. She is also survived by her brother, Victor Ross, of Denver, CO, and her sister, Marjorie Kildow, of Denver, CO. A private ceremony will be held by the family on August 8th at Stanford University.
