Doug, Leif, Ken, and dear family members. In this time of grief and sorrow may the Lord Jesus wrap his loving arms around you, lift you up, and help you to remember tender times with Nell.

Nell, We have always admired you and your positive attitude towards life and living, as you also advocated for causes where life and we, ourselves, have fallen short. You will remain an inspiration in our lives. Our blessings and hugs to Ken, whether he knows why or not, as well as the rest of your family which we are sure are of great value.

Condolences to the entire family, Nell was an amazing woman and she will surely be missed. I loved her spunk and sass. Rest in Peace, wish I could have made the service.

Kelly got it right when she shared how Heaven is filled with 3 wonderful ladies; sharing stories, talking over each other, and correcting the others grammar. Hattie and Doc are overjoyed as well. They have some of their girls with them.

Doug, Leif and family...we will all miss this wonderful lady who cared richly for her grandchildren, spoke proudly about her own children, and filled a room with her presence without saying a word...though that was hard to do. :)She always knew where to place art in the room to make the room look its best. We live with the knowledge that we will see each other again someday. Until that time Nell...know how much you were and are loved.

Aunt Nell and I were close. She was my Godmother. And, God what a mother she was! LOL Seriously, she was complicated. And as rancorous as close relationships can get at times many of the countless memories I have of her are of how much fun she could be to hang with, how marvelous her tastes in art, decor, foods, clothes, and music were, and how great she was at conversation. Her directness could be very blunt. But she knew who she was, what she felt and what she wanted. The love and devotion that she and Uncle Ken shared was something to be in awe of. Thank you, Aunt Nell, for the many acts of kindness to me through the years, for caring so much and for being an anchor for our family and holiday get-togethers. Your Christmas trees were the most beautiful ever. Things are not going to be the same without you. With love and gratitude -

I can't tell you how sad I am to hear of Nell's passing. I have a message on my phone from her that she left for me on my birthday earlier this month -- it will never be deleted. I'm glad that I will be able to continue to hear her voice. I loved Nell so much! She was a great neighbor, friend, and counselor to me. I have so many fond memories of Nell from the summers on Pelican Lake; they all make me smile and some of them make me laugh out loud! Even though there was forty years between us in age, we had a really strong connection. I had hoped this day would never come -- I miss her terribly already. :(
Sending the Grina family our love and DEEPEST sympathy,

Here's the scenario: Aunt Nell, Aunt Sharon and my mom are making some fabulous dinner and drinking wine. (And drinking wine.) :) They're all talking at the same time - and loudly - doing a soft shoe, harmonizing to some dumb song in which they've inevitably substituted dirty lyrics, and posturing for the title of who speaks the most grammatically correct.

Grina family and all descendants of the Chinns, I am sad for all of us, but glad mom and Aunt Sharon have their big sister to sit in between them on that star they're swinging on.
