Nicholas Carrano

Nicholas "Soapy" Carrano of Laurel St. East Haven died May 27, 2010 at the Hospital of St. Raphael. He was the husband of Carlene Hamm Carrano. Soapy was born in New Haven February 4, 1932 to the late Frank and Agnes DePino Carrano and had worked as a forklift operator for Yellow Freight Systems. He was a Navy veteran, a member of Teamsters Local 443, the Santa Maria Maddalena Society and the St. Andrew Society. He was the father of Connie Walton, Nicholas V. Jr. (Tori) and John E. (Shari) Carrano. Brother of Carol Cavazuti, Rose Frattini. Ralph, Frank and the late Alfonso (Fonzie) and Sal Carrano. Grandfather of Albert Williamson, Nicholas, Ava, Gabriella and Brianna Carrano. Funeral from the IOVANNE FUNERAL HOME, INC. 11 Wooster Pl. Thursday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael's Church at 10. Burial with military honors in All Saints Cemetery. Visiting hours will be WEDNESDAY from 4-8pm.
