We offer our deepest sympathy over the passing of a gentle and kind soul. Nicky was always eager with an outstretched hand and a big smile on his face. We will continue to lift the Marshall Family up in prayer for peace and comfort during this time of sadness.

I met Nick in the summer of 1976 at the Oregon Caves. We formed a strong friendship that lasted to this day. He was my best friend and he was one of the genuine good guys with a big heart and a bigger smile. Rest in Peace my brother.

I was so saddened to hear of Nicky's passing. I was in his class at Dickinson High School. Nicky was in my 4th grade group picture. A kinder, sweeter person one couln't find. We'd talk on the phone and he'd tell me about catching salmon, seeing wildlife, and once I heard a "POW" and he said, "Sorry Carol, I had to chase a bear away..he was heading in my dirrection" I'd say, "Are You Kidding Me?" "You just shot a Bear coming towards you" "No, I shot in the air just to scare him off," he would say. "It's alright, He ran away" THen he'd laugh and say, "well when are you and Byron coming to see me?" I am afraid of bears, but Nicky wasn't afraid of anything. He was as happy as can be in the outdoors of Oregon living in his cabin amongst the beautiful wildlife, and the mountains. That sounds like a dream, and I am happy that Nicky lived the way he wanted. I will miss my visits with him by phone, and hearing his voice, so appreciative of all he had. May God bless you Nicky always and forever. Your class of 1975 sends their love to you. You have seen God's eyes, and He has seen yours. It doesn't get any better than that. Rest Peacefully my friend. Love You.
