I can't believe that it has been 30 years since you were tragically taken away from us. Your memory will always be in the hearts of many. You wouldn't believe how many namesakes you have! Peter, Amy, and I have solace in knowing that both Mom and Dad are with you now. You are missed very much.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Dear Annette, Peter and Amy,
I remember Sr. Maya telling me the story of Nick's first day at St. Gregory's. She said this very tall boy entered the classroom with his tall parents. She said she tried to send him to the third or forth grade because she couldn't believe he was a first grade student. Of course, she would always go on to say what a great boy he was. . .He was taken too soon. I always think of him when I pass the gym at St. Gregory's and your sweet mom. Sending love and sweet memories,
Mary Kane

To Annette, Peter, and Amy,
Know that Nick is still remembered and loved by so many people, including his old St. Gregory's classmates. I'm so sure you miss your brother. I'm sending you love - Jennifer Greene

At a Kings game in Sacramento one year, I remember watching Nick Vanos speaking with a very young fan. The lad was in awe of the towering player. I thought it was such a kind act that Mr. Vanos performed. I imagined the young boy was stunned and so sad when he learned of his hero's death. RIP, sir, you were a class act.
